Birth of a Soccer Star

We are proud to report that we now have a future soccer star in the family. On Tuesday Ayla started soccer. She had a blast and was the best one at practice (at least according to her mother). It also helped that she had a great partner. Steve showed her what to do, and she even listened, at least for a little while. Things went great until Ayla poked herself in the eye but blamed it onto Steve, that was the end of our soccer practice. Despite the tragic eye poking incident soccer was a hit and we can't wait until next Tuesday.

Currently Ayla, Flint, Challi, and Brandy are spending some time in Twin Bridges, MT, with Grandpa Clyde and Grandma Pat. Saturday was Grandpa Clyde's birthday and we celebrated by taking the dogs for a walk at the fairgrounds, playing with Ayla at the park, throwing rocks in the river, and by having dinner with Big Gary, Little Gary, Cindy, Carol, and Loren. Fun was had by all, and we wish Grandpa Clyde a fun filled year to come!

Maiden Voyage

Well, I figure that I am so bad at keeping everyone up to date with what is going on in our lives that I might try this blogging thing. It seems to be working for the Shadows, so I figure that I will give it a shot. As most of you know, we just had our second baby on March 13th, 2009, and came into this world at the fighting weight of 9 lbs 5 oz and was 21.5 inches long. Thinking that he was not big enough, Flinters has continued to grow and was 10 lbs. 7 oz. by the time he was two weeks. If he keeps this up he is going to surpass Steve's high school wrestling weight by the time he gets into elementary school.

Ayla has taken to being a big sister very well. It probably helps that she has been so busy lately. Ayla is now taking ballet lessons and is scheduled to start soccer next week. Ballet has been a huge hit so far. Last week she got to dress up as a bee, pretend to be a butterfly, and wear a crown. For her, things can't get much better than that.

We have also been keeping busy getting out and doing some "fishing" while the weather has been good. Ayla has gotten the most fishing done while Steve only gets to fish under strict supervision from Ayla and Challi.
